SAHYADRI NATURE CLUB

The Sahyadri Nature Club at Saintgits Institution has been actively conducting a series of
webinars to raise awareness about the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals
(SDGs), encouraging the academic community to engage with pressing global challenges. As
part of this initiative, the club organized three insightful sessions in August 2025, each
focusing on a distinct SDG. The first webinar, held on 4th August 2025 at 8:00 PM via Google
Meet, was centered on “Life on Land” (SDG 15). The resource person for the session was Mr.
Sandeep Lal S, Lab Instructor Gr-1 from the Department of Electronics Engineering, who
highlighted the critical importance of conserving terrestrial ecosystems, protecting
biodiversity, and adopting sustainable land management practices. This was followed by the
second session on 6th August 2025 at 8:00 PM, which addressed “How to achieve SDG2
targets at college level” (Zero Hunger). The session was led by Ms. Ashly John, Assistant
Professor in the Department of Electronics Engineering. She emphasized the global challenge
of hunger and food insecurity while suggesting practical steps that institutions and students
can take, such as reducing food waste, promoting sustainable food consumption, and
supporting local initiatives to combat malnutrition
